The Spirituality of Abundance

The Spirituality of Abundance
Choosing Life in Y’hovah’s Promises

One of the great challenges in our walk as talmidim of Y’hoshua HaMashiach is how we view life:
Do we live from scarcity, always aware of what we lack?
Or do we live from abundance, rooted in who Y’hovah is?

This teaching invites us into a Messianic way of seeing life — a way rooted not in feelings or circumstances but in Y’hovah’s presence, promises, and unchanging character.
When Y’hovah is at the center of our existence, we discover that true abundance is not about what we have, but about the One who walks with us.

Seeing Reality Clearly — Naming Both Good and Brokenness

Abundance is not denial. Scripture never calls the talmidim of Y’hoshua to ignore the hardships of life.

We live in a world of:

  • sorrow
  • disappointment
  • injustice
  • corruption
  • violence
  • war
  • deceit

And within our own souls we find:

  • pride
  • fear
  • doubt
  • anger
  • unbelief

Abundance does not ignore these realities.
Rather, Scripture calls us to name them honestly, own our part, and bring them before Y’hovah in faith — just as the Psalms teach:

Tehillim (Psalm) 32:5 (CJB)

“I acknowledged my sin to You, I did not hide my iniquity. I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to יהוה,’ and You forgave the guilt of my sin.”

And again:

Mishlei (Proverbs) 28:13 (CJB)

“He who conceals his sins will not succeed; he who confesses and abandons them will gain mercy.”

Only what is brought into Y’hovah’s light can be healed, restored, and transformed. True abundance begins with honesty before Him.

The God of Abundance at the Center of Our Existence

Abundance begins not with what we possess, but with who is at the center of our lives.

When Y’hovah, the Elohim of Life, is our center:

  • We live fully in the present moment
  • We have enough for today
  • His presence strengthens and sustains us
  • His Spirit guides and comforts us
  • His promises define our reality

This is the heart of Yirmeyahu’s message:

Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 29:11–14 (CJB)

“For I know what plans I have in mind for you,’ says יהוה, ‘plans for well-being, not for bad things; so that you can have hope and a future…”

When we seek Y’hovah with all our heart, we discover that true abundance is found in His presence, not in possessions.

Choosing Life, Not Circumstances

Y’hovah has always placed before His people a choice:
Life or death. Blessing or curse.

Devarim (Deuteronomy) 30:19–20 (TS2009)

“I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore, you shall choose life… for He is your life.”

Choosing life means:

  • choosing trust over fear
  • choosing hope over despair
  • choosing obedience over rebellion
  • choosing faith over feelings
  • choosing Y’hovah’s Word over circumstances

It is a daily act of discipleship — a deliberate decision to align ourselves with what Y’hovah has spoken.

The Abundant Life in Mashiach

Y’hoshua HaMashiach teaches the heart of abundance:

Yoḥanan (John) 10:10 (CJB)

“I have come so that they may have life, life in its fullest measure.”

Abundance is not material increase.
It is relational fullness — walking in restored fellowship with Y’hovah through Y’hoshua.

To “choose life” in a Messianic sense is to choose:

  • to trust Y’hovah’s goodness
  • to rest in His care
  • to believe His promises
  • to walk as a talmid of Y’hoshua
  • to cling to Him in every season

When Y’hovah is our Shepherd, lack loses its power over us.

Y’hovah Walks With Us Through Every Fire

Life brings trials, losses, griefs, and storms. But abundance means that Y’hovah does not abandon us in them — He walks with us through them.

Yesha’yahu (Isaiah) 41:10 (CJB)

“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you; don’t be distressed, for I am your God. I give you strength, I give you help, I support you with My victorious right hand.”

Because Y’hovah Himself is in control of every outcome, we can rest in the assurance that He is working all things for our good:

Romans 8:28 (CJB)

“We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called in accordance with His purpose.”

This is abundance:
Not that life becomes easy —
But that Y’hovah is present in every moment.

To live in abundance means:

  • embracing each moment as a gift
  • recognizing Y’hovah’s hand in every event
  • believing He is shaping us through all circumstances
  • knowing we will have enough because He is enough

This is the life of a talmid —
walking with Y’hoshua in trust, not fear.
Seeing life through Y’hovah’s eyes by His Word, not through the shadow of our lack.

Abundance is not a feeling — it is a decision based on Y’hovah’s character.
Feelings rise and fall, but Y’hovah does not change. We choose abundance not because circumstances feel good, but because Y’hovah is good.
We choose trust because Y’hovah is faithful (Tehillim 33:4).
We choose courage because Y’hovah is our Shepherd (Tehillim 23:1).
We choose confidence because Y’hovah strengthens us (Yesha’yahu 41:10).
We choose hope because Y’hovah keeps His promises (Mal’akhi 3:6).
We choose endurance because He works all things for good (Romans 8:28).

We don’t select abundance because life feels right —
We choose abundance because Y’hovah’s character is always right.

To decide for abundance is to anchor our lives in who Y’hovah is, not in how we feel.

The Call to Choose Life Daily

Every day, Y’hovah invites us to choose life, trust, hope, and abundance — not because life is easy, but because He is faithful.
When Y’hovah is the center of our existence, our souls are restored, strengthened, and renewed.
We lack nothing, for He is with us in every moment.
